وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِمْ مُشْفِقُونَ
﴿۲۷﴾
Qarib: and go in fear of the punishment of their Lord,
Sarwar: who are afraid of the torment of their Lord, Shakir: And those who are fearful of the chastisement of their Lord-- Pickthall: And those who are fearful of their Lord's doom - Yusufali: And those who fear the displeasure of their Lord,-
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍ
﴿۲۸﴾
Qarib: for none is secure from the punishment of their Lord,
Sarwar: the punishment of their Lord is not something for them to feel secure of, Shakir: Surely the chastisement of their Lord is (a thing) not to be felt secure of-- Pickthall: Lo! the doom of their Lord is that before which none can feel secure - Yusufali: For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity;-
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
﴿۲۹﴾
Qarib: who guard their privates
Sarwar: who guard their carnal desires Shakir: And those who guard their private parts, Pickthall: And those who preserve their chastity Yusufali: And those who guard their chastity,
إِلَّا عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
﴿۳۰﴾
Qarib: except from their wives and what their right hands own, for these they are not blameworthy.
Sarwar: except from their wives and slave girls, in which case they are not to be blamed, Shakir: Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess-- for these surely are not to be blamed, Pickthall: Save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy; Yusufali: Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,
فَمَنِ ابْتَغَى وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ
﴿۳۱﴾
Qarib: But whosoever seeks beyond that, they are the transgressors.
Sarwar: but whoever goes beyond this is a transgressor; Shakir: But he who seeks to go beyond this, these it is that go beyond the limits-- Pickthall: But whoso seeketh more than that, those are they who are transgressors; Yusufali: But those who trespass beyond this are transgressors;-
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ
﴿۳۲﴾
Qarib: (Those) who keep their trusts and their covenant,
Sarwar: who honor their trust and promises, Shakir: And those who are faithful to their trusts and their covenant Pickthall: And those who keep their pledges and their covenant, Yusufali: And those who respect their trusts and covenants;
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِشَهَادَاتِهِمْ قَائِمُونَ
﴿۳۳﴾
Qarib: and standby their witnessing,
Sarwar: who testify to what they have witnessed, Shakir: And those who are upright in their testimonies, Pickthall: And those who stand by their testimony Yusufali: And those who stand firm in their testimonies;
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
﴿۳۴﴾
Qarib: and who are constant in their prayers.
Sarwar: and (finally) those who do not miss their ritual - prayers at the prescribed times; Shakir: And those who keep a guard on their prayer, Pickthall: And those who are attentive at their worship. Yusufali: And those who guard (the sacredness) of their worship;-
أُولَئِكَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ مُكْرَمُونَ
﴿۳۵﴾
Qarib: Those are highly honored in the Gardens.
Sarwar: such people will receive due honor in Paradise. Shakir: Those shall be in gardens, honored Pickthall: These will dwell in Gardens, honoured. Yusufali: Such will be the honoured ones in the Gardens (of Bliss).
فَمَالِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ
﴿۳۶﴾
Qarib: But what is the matter with the unbelievers, that they strain their glances continuously towards them,
Sarwar: What is wrong with the disbelievers who roam around you (Muhammad), Shakir: But what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten on around you, Pickthall: What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, Yusufali: Now what is the matter with the Unbelievers that they rush madly before thee- |
