Sura 55: AR-RAHMAN (THE BENEFICENT) - Juz' 27

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
الرَّحْمَنُ ﴿۱﴾
Qarib: The Merciful
Sarwar: The Beneficent (God)
Shakir: The Beneficent Allah,
Pickthall: The Beneficent
Yusufali: (Allah) Most Gracious!
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴿۲﴾
Qarib: has taught the Koran.
Sarwar: has taught the Quran to (Muhammad).
Shakir: Taught the Quran
Pickthall: Hath made known the Qur'an.
Yusufali: It is He Who has taught the Qur'an.
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ ﴿۳﴾
Qarib: He created the human
Sarwar: He created the human being
Shakir: He created man,
Pickthall: He hath created man.
Yusufali: He has created man:
عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ ﴿۴﴾
Qarib: and taught him its pronunciation.
Sarwar: and has taught him intelligible speech.
Shakir: Taught him the mode of expression
Pickthall: He hath taught him utterance.
Yusufali: He has taught him speech (and intelligence).
الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ﴿۵﴾
Qarib: The sun and the moon to a reckoning.
Sarwar: The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit.
Shakir: The sun and the moon follow a reckoning
Pickthall: The sun and the moon are made punctual.
Yusufali: The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed;
وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ ﴿۶﴾
Qarib: The stars and the trees prostrate themselves.
Sarwar: The plants and trees prostrate before Him.
Shakir: And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him)
Pickthall: The stars and the trees prostrate.
Yusufali: And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration.
وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ ﴿۷﴾
Qarib: He raised the heaven on high and set the scale.
Sarwar: He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance,
Shakir: And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance
Pickthall: And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure,
Yusufali: And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ ﴿۸﴾
Qarib: Do not transgress the scales.
Sarwar: so that you would maintain justice.
Shakir: That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure
Pickthall: That ye exceed not the measure,
Yusufali: In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance.
وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ ﴿۹﴾
Qarib: Give just weight and do not skimp the scales.
Sarwar: Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance.
Shakir: And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient
Pickthall: But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof.
Yusufali: So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.
وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ﴿۱۰﴾
Qarib: He set down the earth for the creation.
Sarwar: He spread out the earth for the people.
Shakir: And the earth, He has set it for living creatures;
Pickthall: And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures,
Yusufali: It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:
فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ ﴿۱۱﴾
Qarib: Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths,
Sarwar: There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms,
Shakir: Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters,
Pickthall: Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees,
Yusufali: Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates);
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ ﴿۱۲﴾
Qarib: the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs.
Sarwar: grain with its husk and aromatic herbs.
Shakir: And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance
Pickthall: Husked grain and scented herb.
Yusufali: Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۳﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ ﴿۱۴﴾
Qarib: He created the human from clay, like earthenware
Sarwar: He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery
Shakir: He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels,
Pickthall: He created man of clay like the potter's,
Yusufali: He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ ﴿۱۵﴾
Qarib: and He created the jinn from smokeless fire.
Sarwar: and jinn from the many colored flames of fire.
Shakir: And He created the jinn of a flame of fire
Pickthall: And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire.
Yusufali: And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۶﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ ﴿۱۷﴾
Qarib: The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests.
Sarwar: He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons.
Shakir: Lord of the East and Lord of the West
Pickthall: Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests!
Yusufali: (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۸﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ ﴿۱۹﴾
Qarib: He has let forth the two seas, they meet together,
Sarwar: He has made the two oceans meet each other,
Shakir: He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together:
Pickthall: He hath loosed the two seas. They meet.
Yusufali: He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ ﴿۲۰﴾
Qarib: and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass.
Sarwar: but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally.
Shakir: Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass
Pickthall: There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other).
Yusufali: Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۱﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ﴿۲۲﴾
Qarib: Pearls and corals come from both.
Sarwar: From the two oceans comes pearls and coral.
Shakir: There come forth from them pearls, both large and small
Pickthall: There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone.
Yusufali: Out of them come Pearls and Coral:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۳﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ ﴿۲۴﴾
Qarib: Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea.
Sarwar: By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains.
Shakir: And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains
Pickthall: His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners.
Yusufali: And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۵﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ ﴿۲۶﴾
Qarib: All that live on it will perish.
Sarwar: Everyone on earth is destined to die.
Shakir: Everyone on it must pass away
Pickthall: Everyone that is thereon will pass away;
Yusufali: All that is on earth will perish:
وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ﴿۲۷﴾
Qarib: Yet the Face of your Lord will abide forever, Majestic and Splendid.
Sarwar: Only the Supreme Essence of your Glorious and Gracious Lord will remain forever.
Shakir: And there will endure for ever the person of your Lord, the Lord of glory and honor
Pickthall: There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory.
Yusufali: But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۸﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ ﴿۲۹﴾
Qarib: Whosoever is in the heaven and earth ask Him. Every day He is upon an affair (He reveals according to His Eternal determination).
Sarwar: Everyone in the heavens and the earth depends on Him. His task in preserving His creation is continuous.
Shakir: All those who are in the heavens and the earth ask of Him; every moment He is in a state (of glory)
Pickthall: All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power.
Yusufali: Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)!
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۰﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ ﴿۳۱﴾
Qarib: We shall surely aim, O both burdened.
Sarwar: Jinn and mankind, We shall certainly settle your accounts.
Shakir: Soon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies
Pickthall: We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn).
Yusufali: Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds!
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۲﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ ﴿۳۳﴾
Qarib: Tribe of jinn and of human, if you are able to penetrate the provinces of heaven and earth, pass through them! But you shall not pass through except with a power!
Sarwar: Jinn and mankind, if you can penetrate the diameters of the heavens and the earth, do so, but you cannot do so without power and authority.
Shakir: O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with authority
Pickthall: O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.
Yusufali: O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass!
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۴﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ ﴿۳۵﴾
Qarib: Flames of fire and molten copper shall be loosed against you, and you shall not be helped.
Sarwar: Flames of fire and molten brass will be released against you and you will not be able to protect yourselves.
Shakir: The flames of fire and smoke will be sent on you two, then you will not be able to defend yourselves
Pickthall: There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape.
Yusufali: On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۶﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ ﴿۳۷﴾
Qarib: When the heaven splits asunder and turns crimson, like red leather.
Sarwar: (On the Day of Judgment) when the heavens are rent asunder they will have a flowery color and flow like oil.
Shakir: And when the heaven is rent asunder, and then becomes red like red hide
Pickthall: And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide -
Yusufali: When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۸﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? -
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۳۹﴾
Qarib: On that Day, neither human nor jinn shall be asked about his sin.
Sarwar: On that day there will be no need to ask mankind or jinn about his sin
Shakir: So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin
Pickthall: On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin.
Yusufali: On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۰﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ ﴿۴۱﴾
Qarib: The sinners shall be known by their mark, they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet.
Sarwar: The guilty ones will be recognized by their faces and will be seized by their forelocks and feet.
Shakir: The guilty shall be recognized by their marks, so they shall be seized by the forelocks and the feet
Pickthall: The guilty will be known by their marks, and will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.
Yusufali: (For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۲﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
هَذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ﴿۴۳﴾
Qarib: This is Gehenna (Hell) which the sinners belied,
Sarwar: (The guilty ones will be told), "This is hell which the sinful ones denied".
Shakir: This is the hell which the guilty called a lie
Pickthall: This is hell which the guilty deny.
Yusufali: This is the Hell which the Sinners deny:
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ﴿۴۴﴾
Qarib: they shall go round between it, and between a hot, boiling water.
Sarwar: They will run around in blazing fire and boiling water.
Shakir: Round about shall they go between it and hot, boiling water
Pickthall: They go circling round between it and fierce, boiling water.
Yusufali: In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round!
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۵﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ ﴿۴۶﴾
Qarib: And for he who fears the standing (before) his Lord there are two Gardens.
Sarwar: Those who fear their Lord will have two gardens
Shakir: And for him who fears to stand before his Lord are two gardens
Pickthall: But for him who feareth the standing before his Lord there are two gardens.
Yusufali: But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۷﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ ﴿۴۸﴾
Qarib: (Gardens) with many branches.
Sarwar: full of various trees.
Shakir: Having in them various kinds
Pickthall: Of spreading branches.
Yusufali: Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۹﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ ﴿۵۰﴾
Qarib: Therein are two running fountains.
Sarwar: In the two gardens there will be two flowing springs.
Shakir: In both of them are two fountains flowing
Pickthall: Wherein are two fountains flowing.
Yusufali: In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free);
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۱﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ﴿۵۲﴾
Qarib: Therein are two kinds of every fruit.
Sarwar: In them there are pairs of each kind of fruit.
Shakir: In both of them are two pairs of every fruit
Pickthall: Wherein is every kind of fruit in pairs.
Yusufali: In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۳﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ ﴿۵۴﴾
Qarib: (They shall) recline on couches lined with brocade, and the fruits of the Gardens will be near at hand.
Sarwar: (The dwellers of Paradise) will recline on couches lined with silk brocade and it will be easy to reach the ripe fruits from the two gardens.
Shakir: Reclining on beds, the inner coverings of which are of silk brocade; and the fruits of the two gardens shall be within reach
Pickthall: Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand.
Yusufali: They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach).
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۵﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۵۶﴾
Qarib: Therein are maidens who restrain their glances, whom neither human nor jinn have touched before.
Sarwar: There will be bashful maidens untouched by mankind or jinn before.
Shakir: In them shall be those who restrained their eyes; before them neither man nor jinni shall have touched them
Pickthall: Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them.
Yusufali: In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۷﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: jinn and mankindîwhich of the favors of your Lord would you then deny
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ﴿۵۸﴾
Qarib: As (lovely as) rubies and as (beautiful as) coral.
Sarwar: who are as beautiful as rubies and pearls.
Shakir: As though they were rubies and pearls
Pickthall: (In beauty) like the jacynth and the coral-stone.
Yusufali: Like unto Rubies and coral.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۹﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ ﴿۶۰﴾
Qarib: Shall the recompense of goodness be anything other than goodness?
Sarwar: Can any thing else be a response to a favor but a favor?
Shakir: Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness?
Pickthall: Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness?
Yusufali: Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good?
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۱﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ﴿۶۲﴾
Qarib: And beside these there shall be two Gardens.
Sarwar: Besides this, there will be two other gardens.
Shakir: And besides these two are two (other) gardens:
Pickthall: And beside them are two other gardens,
Yusufali: And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۳﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: - jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ﴿۶۴﴾
Qarib: The greenest of green pastures.
Sarwar: - dark green in color.
Shakir: Both inclining to blackness
Pickthall: Dark green with foliage.
Yusufali: Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering).
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۵﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ﴿۶۶﴾
Qarib: Therein are two gushing fountains of water.
Sarwar: In these there will also be two springs gushing forth.
Shakir: In both of them are two springs gushing forth
Pickthall: Wherein are two abundant springs.
Yusufali: In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۷﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ ﴿۶۸﴾
Qarib: In them are fruits, palm trees and pomegranates.
Sarwar: In both gardens there will be fruits, palm-trees, and pomegranates
Shakir: In both are fruits and palms and pomegranates
Pickthall: Wherein is fruit, the date-palm and pomegranate.
Yusufali: In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۹﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ﴿۷۰﴾
Qarib: In them shall be good and pleasing.
Sarwar: There will be well-disciplined, beautiful maidens.
Shakir: In them are goodly things, beautiful ones
Pickthall: Wherein (are found) the good and beautiful -
Yusufali: In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۱﴾

Sarwar: - jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? -
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ ﴿۷۲﴾
Qarib: Maidens (of Paradise, Houris) in cloistered cool pavilions.
Sarwar: - with big, black and white beautiful eyes, dwelling in tents.
Shakir: Pure ones confined to the pavilions
Pickthall: Fair ones, close-guarded in pavilions -
Yusufali: Companions restrained (as to their glances), in (goodly) pavilions;-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۳﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: - jinn and mankind - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? -
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۷۴﴾
Qarib: Neither human nor jinn will have touched them before.
Sarwar: - untouched by jinn or mankind before.
Shakir: Man has not touched them before them nor jinni
Pickthall: Whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them -
Yusufali: Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۵﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ ﴿۷۶﴾
Qarib: Reclining on green cushions and fine carpets.
Sarwar: They will be reclining on plain green and beautifully printed cushions
Shakir: Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets
Pickthall: Reclining on green cushions and fair carpets.
Yusufali: Reclining on green Cushions and rich Carpets of beauty.
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۷﴾
Qarib: Which favors of your Lord will you both belie?
Sarwar: (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny?
Shakir: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Pickthall: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
Yusufali: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ﴿۷۸﴾
Qarib: Blessed be the Name of your Lord, Majestic, Splendid.
Sarwar: Blessed is the Name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Grace.
Shakir: Blessed be the name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Honor!
Pickthall: Blessed be the name of thy Lord, Mighty and glorious!
Yusufali: Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.
