Sura 37: AS-SAAFFAT (THOSE WHO SET THE RANKS) - Juz' 23

Qarib: My Lord, grant me a righteous (son). '
Sarwar: Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son".
Shakir: My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds
Pickthall: My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous.
Yusufali: "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!"
Qarib: And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael).
Sarwar: We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son.
Shakir: So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance
Pickthall: So We gave him tidings of a gentle son.
Yusufali: So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear.
Qarib: And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion. ' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast. '
Sarwar: When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God".
Shakir: And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones
Pickthall: And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.
Yusufali: Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"
Qarib: And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead,
Sarwar: When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering),
Shakir: So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead,
Pickthall: Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face,
Yusufali: So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),
Qarib: We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham,
Sarwar: We called to him, "Abraham,
Shakir: And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim!
Pickthall: We called unto him: O Abraham!
Yusufali: We called out to him "O Abraham!
Qarib: you have confirmed your vision. ' As such We recompense the gooddoers.
Sarwar: you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones.
Shakir: You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good:
Pickthall: Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good.
Yusufali: "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Qarib: That was indeed a clear trial.
Sarwar: It was certainly an open trial.
Shakir: Most surely this is a manifest trial
Pickthall: Lo! that verily was a clear test.
Yusufali: For this was obviously a trial-
Qarib: So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice,
Sarwar: We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice
Shakir: And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice
Pickthall: Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim.
Yusufali: And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice:
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ ﴿۱۰۸﴾
Qarib: and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations),
Sarwar: and perpetuated his praise in later generations.
Shakir: And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations
Pickthall: And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation):
Yusufali: And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:
سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ﴿۱۰۹﴾
Qarib: 'Peace be upon Abraham! '
Sarwar: Peace be with Abraham.
Shakir: Peace be on Ibrahim
Pickthall: Peace be unto Abraham!
Yusufali: "Peace and salutation to Abraham!"
