Sura 21: AL-ANBIYA (THE PROPHETS) - Juz' 17

Qarib: those who fear Allah in the Unseen, tremble because of the Hour.
Sarwar: who fear their unseen Lord and are anxious about the Day of Judgment.
Shakir: (For) those who fear their Lord in secret and they are fearful of the hour
Pickthall: Those who fear their Lord in secret and who dread the Hour (of doom).
Yusufali: Those who fear their Lord in their most secret thoughts, and who hold the Hour (of Judgment) in awe.
Qarib: This is a blessed Remembrance which We have sent down. Do you disbelieve it?
Sarwar: This (Quran) which We have revealed is a blessed reminder. Will you then deny it?
Shakir: And this is a blessed Reminder which We have revealed; will you then deny it?
Pickthall: This is a blessed Reminder that we have revealed: Will ye then reject it?
Yusufali: And this is a blessed Message which We have sent down: will ye then reject it?
Qarib: Before this We gave Abraham his virtue, for We knew him.
Sarwar: To Abraham We gave the right guidance and We knew him very well.
Shakir: And certainly We gave to Ibrahim his rectitude before, and We knew him fully well
Pickthall: And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him,
Yusufali: We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his rectitude of conduct, and well were We acquainted with him.
Qarib: He said to his father and to his nation: 'What, are these the statues to which you cling? '
Sarwar: Abraham asked his father and his people, "What are these statues which you worship?"
Shakir: When he said to his father and his people: What are these images to whose worship you cleave?
Pickthall: When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion?
Yusufali: Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?"
Qarib: They replied: 'We found our fathers worshipping them. '
Sarwar: They replied, "We found our fathers worshipping them".
Shakir: They said: We found our fathers worshipping them
Pickthall: They said: We found our fathers worshippers of them.
Yusufali: They said, "We found our fathers worshipping them."
Qarib: He said: 'Truly, you and your fathers are in clear error. '
Sarwar: He said, "Both you and your fathers have certainly been in error."
Shakir: He said: Certainly you have been, (both) you and your fathers, in manifest error
Pickthall: He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error.
Yusufali: He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers."
Qarib: They said: 'Is it the truth you have brought us, or are you one of those that play? '
Sarwar: They exclaimed, "Have you brought the Truth or are you joking?"
Shakir: They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the triflers?
Pickthall: They said: Bringest thou unto us the truth, or art thou some jester?
Yusufali: They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?"
Qarib: 'No, ' he answered, 'your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Originator of them, and I am among those bearing witness to it.
Sarwar: He said, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. It was He who created them and I testify to this fact".
Shakir: He said: Nay! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear witness to this:
Pickthall: He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that.
Yusufali: He said, "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, He Who created them (from nothing): and I am a witness to this (Truth).
Qarib: By Allah, I will certainly outwit your idols as soon as you have turned your backs and gone. '
Sarwar: Abraham said to himself, "By God! I will devise a plan against their idols when they are away."
Shakir: And, by Allah! I will certainly do something against your idols after you go away, turning back
Pickthall: And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs.
Yusufali: "And by Allah, I have a plan for your idols - after ye go away and turn your backs"..
Qarib: He broke them all into pieces, except their great one so that they might return to it.
Sarwar: He broke all the idols into pieces, except the biggest among them so that perhaps people would refer to it.
Shakir: So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it
Pickthall: Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it.
Yusufali: So he broke them to pieces, (all) but the biggest of them, that they might turn (and address themselves) to it.
