Qarib: and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate!
Sarwar: Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? Shakir: And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? Pickthall: And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? Yusufali: And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,
Qarib: No, the unbelievers only belie,
Sarwar: In fact, they reject the Quran, Shakir: Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth Pickthall: Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; Yusufali: But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).
Qarib: and Allah knows very well what they gather.
Sarwar: but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. Shakir: And Allah knows best what they hide, Pickthall: And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. Yusufali: But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)
Qarib: Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment,
Sarwar: (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment Shakir: So announce to them a painful punishment~ Pickthall: So give them tidings of a painful doom, Yusufali: So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,
Qarib: except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense.
Sarwar: except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. Shakir: Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off Pickthall: Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. Yusufali: Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. |
