وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
﴿۳۱﴾
Qarib: and fruit and pastures,
Sarwar: fruits, and grass. Shakir: And fruits and herbage Pickthall: And fruits and grasses: Yusufali: And fruits and fodder,-
مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
﴿۳۲﴾
Qarib: for you and for your herds to delight in.
Sarwar: (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. Shakir: A provision for you and for your cattle Pickthall: Provision for you and your cattle. Yusufali: For use and convenience to you and your cattle.
فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ
﴿۳۳﴾
Qarib: But, when the Blast comes,
Sarwar: When the trumpet sounds, Shakir: But when the deafening cry comes, Pickthall: But when the Shout cometh Yusufali: At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,-
يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
﴿۳۴﴾
Qarib: on that Day each person will flee from his brother,
Sarwar: it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, Shakir: The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, Pickthall: On the day when a man fleeth from his brother Yusufali: That Day shall a man flee from his own brother,
وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ
﴿۳۵﴾
Qarib: his mother and his father,
Sarwar: mother, father, Shakir: And his mother and his father, Pickthall: And his mother and his father Yusufali: And from his mother and his father,
وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ
﴿۳۶﴾
Qarib: his wife and his children.
Sarwar: wife and sons, Shakir: And his spouse and his son-- Pickthall: And his wife and his children, Yusufali: And from his wife and his children.
لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ
﴿۳۷﴾
Qarib: Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied.
Sarwar: for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. Shakir: Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him Pickthall: Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). Yusufali: Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُسْفِرَةٌ
﴿۳۸﴾
Qarib: Some faces will shine,
Sarwar: Some faces on that day will be radiant, Shakir: (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, Pickthall: On that day faces will be bright as dawn, Yusufali: Some faces that Day will be beaming,
ضَاحِكَةٌ مُسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
﴿۳۹﴾
Qarib: laughing and joyful,
Sarwar: laughing and joyous Shakir: Laughing, joyous Pickthall: Laughing, rejoicing at good news; Yusufali: Laughing, rejoicing.
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
﴿۴۰﴾
Qarib: whereas some faces will be covered with dust
Sarwar: but others will be gloomy Shakir: And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, Pickthall: And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, Yusufali: And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, |
