Sura 70: AL-MAARIJ (THE ASCENDING STAIRWAYS) - Juz' 29

Qarib: but when good comes upon him, he is grudging
Sarwar: but when they are fortunate, they become niggardly
Shakir: And niggardly when good befalls him
Pickthall: And, when good befalleth him, grudging;
Yusufali: And niggardly when good reaches him;-
Qarib: except those that pray
Sarwar: except those who are steadfast
Shakir: Except those who pray,
Pickthall: Save worshippers.
Yusufali: Not so those devoted to Prayer;-
Qarib: who are constant in prayer;
Sarwar: and constant in their prayers.
Shakir: Those who are constant at their prayer
Pickthall: Who are constant at their worship
Yusufali: Those who remain steadfast to their prayer;
Qarib: who, from their wealth is a known right
Sarwar: They are those who assign a certain share of their property
Shakir: And those in whose wealth there is a fixed portion
Pickthall: And in whose wealth there is a right acknowledged
Yusufali: And those in whose wealth is a recognised right.
Qarib: for the impoverished nonrequester and the requester,
Sarwar: for the needy and the deprived,
Shakir: For him who begs and for him who is denied (good)
Pickthall: For the beggar and the destitute;
Yusufali: For the (needy) who asks and him who is prevented (for some reason from asking);
Qarib: who confirm the Day of Reckoning
Sarwar: who acknowledge the Day of Judgment,
Shakir: And those who accept the truth of the judgment day
Pickthall: And those who believe in the Day of Judgment,
Yusufali: And those who hold to the truth of the Day of Judgment;
Qarib: and go in fear of the punishment of their Lord,
Sarwar: who are afraid of the torment of their Lord,
Shakir: And those who are fearful of the chastisement of their Lord--
Pickthall: And those who are fearful of their Lord's doom -
Yusufali: And those who fear the displeasure of their Lord,-
Qarib: for none is secure from the punishment of their Lord,
Sarwar: the punishment of their Lord is not something for them to feel secure of,
Shakir: Surely the chastisement of their Lord is (a thing) not to be felt secure of--
Pickthall: Lo! the doom of their Lord is that before which none can feel secure -
Yusufali: For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity;-
Qarib: who guard their privates
Sarwar: who guard their carnal desires
Shakir: And those who guard their private parts,
Pickthall: And those who preserve their chastity
Yusufali: And those who guard their chastity,
Qarib: except from their wives and what their right hands own, for these they are not blameworthy.
Sarwar: except from their wives and slave girls, in which case they are not to be blamed,
Shakir: Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess-- for these surely are not to be blamed,
Pickthall: Save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy;
Yusufali: Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,
