Sura 53: AN-NAJM (THE STAR) - Juz' 27

Qarib: He plunged the villages
Sarwar: It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot
Shakir: And the overthrown cities did He overthrow,
Pickthall: And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed
Yusufali: And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).
Qarib: so that there came upon them that which came.
Sarwar: and covered them with torment.
Shakir: So there covered them that which covered
Pickthall: So that there covered them that which did cover.
Yusufali: So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.
Qarib: So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute?
Sarwar: About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute?
Shakir: Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about?
Pickthall: Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute?
Yusufali: Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?
Qarib: This is a warner from the warners of ancient times.
Sarwar: This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets).
Shakir: This is a warner of the warners of old
Pickthall: This is a warner of the warners of old.
Yusufali: This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!
Qarib: The Imminent is near at hand;
Sarwar: The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer.
Shakir: The near event draws nigh
Pickthall: The threatened Hour is nigh.
Yusufali: The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ﴿۵۸﴾
Qarib: none except Allah can disclose it.
Sarwar: No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship.
Shakir: There shall be none besides Allah to remove it
Pickthall: None beside Allah can disclose it.
Yusufali: No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.
Qarib: Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)?
Sarwar: Does this statement seem strange to them
Shakir: Do you then wonder at this announcement?
Pickthall: Marvel ye then at this statement,
Yusufali: Do ye then wonder at this recital?
Qarib: Or do you laugh, and do you not weep
Sarwar: and do they laugh instead of weeping,
Shakir: And will you laugh and not weep?
Pickthall: And laugh and not weep,
Yusufali: And will ye laugh and not weep,-
Qarib: while you are thoughtless?
Sarwar: indulging in carelessly idle games?
Shakir: While you are indulging in varieties
Pickthall: While ye amuse yourselves?
Yusufali: Wasting your time in vanities?
Qarib: Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him.
Sarwar: So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him.
Shakir: So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him)
Pickthall: Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him.
Yusufali: But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!
