Sura 51: ADH-DHARIYAT (THE WINNOWING WINDS) - Juz' 27

Qarib: 'Messengers, ' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand? '
Sarwar: Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?"
Shakir: He said: What is your affair then, O messengers!
Pickthall: (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)?
Yusufali: (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?"
Qarib: They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation,
Sarwar: They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people
Shakir: They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people,
Pickthall: They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk,
Yusufali: They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;-
Qarib: so that we bring down stones of clay upon them
Sarwar: to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy.
Shakir: That we may send down upon them stone of clay,
Pickthall: That we may send upon them stones of clay,
Yusufali: "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone),
Qarib: marked by your Lord for the sinful. '
Sarwar: They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord".
Shakir: Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant
Pickthall: Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton.
Yusufali: "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds."
Qarib: So We brought the believers out of that they were in.
Sarwar: We saved the believers among them,
Shakir: Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers
Pickthall: Then we brought forth such believers as were there.
Yusufali: Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there,
Qarib: But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves,
Sarwar: but We found only one Muslim house.
Shakir: But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims)
Pickthall: But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah).
Yusufali: But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house:
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَةً لِلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ ﴿۳۷﴾
Qarib: and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.
Sarwar: We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment.
Shakir: And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment
Pickthall: And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom.
Yusufali: And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty.
Qarib: In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority,
Sarwar: There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority.
Shakir: And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority
Pickthall: And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant,
Yusufali: And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest.
Qarib: but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man! '
Sarwar: The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person".
Shakir: But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man
Pickthall: But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman.
Yusufali: But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!"
Qarib: So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy.
Sarwar: We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed.
Shakir: So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable
Pickthall: So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate.
Yusufali: So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame.
