Sura 37: AS-SAAFFAT (THOSE WHO SET THE RANKS) - Juz' 23

Qarib: Lot, too, was among the Messengers.
Sarwar: Lot was certainly a Messenger.
Shakir: And Lut was most surely of the messengers
Pickthall: And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn).
Yusufali: So also was Lut among those sent (by Us).
Qarib: We saved him and all his kinsmen,
Sarwar: We rescued him and his whole family,
Shakir: When We delivered him and his followers, all--
Pickthall: When We saved him and his household, every one,
Yusufali: Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all
Qarib: except an old woman who lingered,
Sarwar: except for an old woman who remained behind.
Shakir: Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried
Pickthall: Save an old woman among those who stayed behind;
Yusufali: Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind:
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ ﴿۱۳۶﴾
Qarib: and We destroyed the others.
Sarwar: Then We totally destroyed the others.
Shakir: Then We destroyed the others
Pickthall: Then We destroyed the others.
Yusufali: Then We destroyed the rest.
Qarib: You pass by them in the morning
Sarwar: You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning and at night.
Shakir: And most surely you pass by them in the morning,
Pickthall: And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning
Yusufali: Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day-
Qarib: and at night, will you not understand?
Sarwar: Will you then not understand?
Shakir: And at night; do you not then understand?
Pickthall: And at night-time; have ye then no sense?
Yusufali: And by night: will ye not understand?
Qarib: Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers.
Sarwar: Jonah was certainly a Messenger.
Shakir: And Yunus was most surely of the messengers
Pickthall: And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn)
Yusufali: So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us).
Qarib: He ran away to the laden ship,
Sarwar: He abandoned his people
Shakir: When he ran away to a ship completely laden,
Pickthall: When he fled unto the laden ship,
Yusufali: When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden,
Qarib: and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast).
Sarwar: and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water.
Shakir: So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off
Pickthall: And then drew lots and was of those rejected;
Yusufali: He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned:
فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ﴿۱۴۲﴾
Qarib: So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy,
Sarwar: The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this).
Shakir: So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself
Pickthall: And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy;
Yusufali: Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame.
