Sura 25: AL-FURQAN (THE CRITERION) - Juz' 19

Qarib: Those who do not hope to meet Us ask: 'Why have no angels been sent to us? Why can we not see our Lord? ' How proud they are within themselves, and have become greatly disdainful.
Sarwar: Those who have no desire to meet Us have said, "Would that the angels had been sent to us or that we could see our Lord." They are really filled with pride and have committed the greatest and worst kind of rebellion and hostility.
Shakir: And those who do not hope for Our meeting, say: Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt
Pickthall: And those who look not for a meeting with Us say: Why are angels not sent down unto us and (Why) do we not see our Lord! Assuredly they think too highly of themselves and are scornful with great pride.
Yusufali: Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety!
Qarib: On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden! '
Sarwar: On the day when the criminals see the angels, there will, certainly, be no rejoicing for them. Rather, they will plead to the angels, "Please keep away from us (do not drive us into hell)."
Shakir: On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited
Pickthall: On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban!
Yusufali: The Day they see the angels,- no joy will there be to the sinners that Day: The (angels) will say: "There is a barrier forbidden (to you) altogether!"
Qarib: Then We shall advance upon the work which they have done and render it as scattered dust.
Sarwar: We shall call their deeds into Our presence and scatter them into the air as dust (turn them devoid of all virtue).
Shakir: And We will proceed to what they have done of deeds, so We shall render them as scattered floating dust
Pickthall: And We shall turn unto the work they did and make it scattered motes.
Yusufali: And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about.
Qarib: On that Day, the companions of Paradise (will have) a better abode and a finer restingplace.
Sarwar: The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place.
Shakir: The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place
Pickthall: Those who have earned the Garden on that day will be better in their home and happier in their place of noonday rest;
Yusufali: The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose.
Qarib: On that Day, the heaven is split asunder with clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty,
Sarwar: On that day the sky will be crystal blue, clear of clouds. The angels will descend in groups
Shakir: And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks)
Pickthall: A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent.
Yusufali: The Day the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and angels shall be sent down, descending (in ranks),-
Qarib: the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers.
Sarwar: and the Absolute kingdom will belong to the Beneficent God.
Shakir: The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers
Pickthall: The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers.
Yusufali: That Day, the dominion as of right and truth, shall be (wholly) for (Allah) Most Merciful: it will be a Day of dire difficulty for the Misbelievers.
Qarib: Upon that Day the harmdoer shall bite his hands, and say: 'Would that I had taken a Path with the Messenger!
Sarwar: It will be a hard day for the unbelievers. It will be a day when the unjust will bite their fingers, (regretfully) saying, "Would that we had followed the path of the Messengers.
Shakir: And the day when the unjust one shall bite his hands saying: O! would that I had taken a way with the Messenger
Pickthall: On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)!
Yusufali: The Day that the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, "Oh! would that I had taken a (straight) path with the Messenger!
Qarib: Would that I had never chosen soandso for my companion!
Sarwar: Woe to us! Would that we had not been friends with so and so.
Shakir: O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend !
Pickthall: Alas for me! Ah, would that I had never taken such an one for friend!
Yusufali: "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend!
Qarib: He led me astray from the Remembrance after it had reached me, satan is ever the foresaker of humans. '
Sarwar: He led me away from the true guidance after it had come to us. Satan is a traitor to people."
Shakir: Certainly he led me astray from the reminder after it had come to me; and the Shaitan fails to aid man
Pickthall: He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need.
Yusufali: "He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to man!"
Qarib: The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it. '
Sarwar: The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran."
Shakir: And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing
Pickthall: And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Qur'an of no account.
Yusufali: Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense."
