Juz' 27 - Translation Yusufali

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿۳۱﴾
(Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" (31)
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُجْرِمِينَ ﴿۳۲﴾
They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- (32)
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِنْ طِينٍ ﴿۳۳﴾
"To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), (33)
مُسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿۳۴﴾
"Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." (34)
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۳۵﴾
Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, (35)
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ﴿۳۶﴾
But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: (36)
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَةً لِلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ ﴿۳۷﴾
And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. (37)
وَفِي مُوسَى إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ ﴿۳۸﴾
And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. (38)
فَتَوَلَّى بِرُكْنِهِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ﴿۳۹﴾
But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39)
فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ﴿۴۰﴾
So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. (40)
وَفِي عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ ﴿۴۱﴾
And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: (41)
مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ ﴿۴۲﴾
It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. (42)
وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّى حِينٍ ﴿۴۳﴾
And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" (43)
فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ ﴿۴۴﴾
But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. (44)
فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِنْ قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنْتَصِرِينَ ﴿۴۵﴾
Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. (45)
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ ﴿۴۶﴾
So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. (46)
وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ ﴿۴۷﴾
With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. (47)
وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ ﴿۴۸﴾
And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out! (48)
وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿۴۹﴾
And of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction. (49)
فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ ﴿۵۰﴾
Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! (50)
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ ﴿۵۱﴾
And make not another an object of worship with Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! (51)
كَذَلِكَ مَا أَتَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ﴿۵۲﴾
Similarly, no messenger came to the Peoples before them, but they said (of him) in like manner, "A sorcerer, or one possessed"! (52)
أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ﴿۵۳﴾
Is this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds! (53)
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِمَلُومٍ ﴿۵۴﴾
So turn away from them: not thine is the blame. (54)
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۵۵﴾
But teach (thy Message) for teaching benefits the Believers. (55)
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ﴿۵۶﴾
I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me. (56)
مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ رِزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطْعِمُونِ ﴿۵۷﴾
No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. (57)
إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ ﴿۵۸﴾
For Allah is He Who gives (all) Sustenance,- Lord of Power,- Steadfast (for ever). (58)
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا مِثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ ﴿۵۹﴾
For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)! (59)
فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ﴿۶۰﴾
Woe, then, to the Unbelievers, on account of that Day of theirs which they have been promised! (60)
Sura 52: AT-TUR (THE MOUNT)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
وَالطُّورِ ﴿۱﴾
By the Mount (of Revelation); (1)
وَكِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ ﴿۲﴾
By a Decree inscribed (2)
فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ ﴿۳﴾
In a Scroll unfolded; (3)
وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ ﴿۴﴾
By the much-frequented Fane; (4)
وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ ﴿۵﴾
By the Canopy Raised High; (5)
وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ ﴿۶﴾
And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- (6)
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ﴿۷﴾
Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- (7)
مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ ﴿۸﴾
There is none can avert it;- (8)
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا ﴿۹﴾
On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. (9)
وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا ﴿۱۰﴾
And the mountains will fly hither and thither. (10)
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿۱۱﴾
Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- (11)
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿۱۲﴾
That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. (12)
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ﴿۱۳﴾
That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. (13)
هَذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿۱۴﴾
"This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! (14)
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَذَا أَمْ أَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿۱۵﴾
"Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? (15)
اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۱۶﴾
"Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." (16)
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ ﴿۱۷﴾
As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- (17)
فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ ﴿۱۸﴾
Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. (18)
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۱۹﴾
(To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." (19)
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ﴿۲۰﴾
They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. (20)
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُمْ مِنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ ﴿۲۱﴾
And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. (21)
وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿۲۲﴾
And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. (22)
يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ ﴿۲۳﴾
They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. (23)
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ ﴿۲۴﴾
Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. (24)
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ ﴿۲۵﴾
They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. (25)
قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ ﴿۲۶﴾
They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. (26)
فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ ﴿۲۷﴾
"But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. (27)
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿۲۸﴾
"Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" (28)
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ ﴿۲۹﴾
Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. (29)
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ ﴿۳۰﴾
Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" (30)
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ ﴿۳۱﴾
Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" (31)
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهَذَا أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ﴿۳۲﴾
Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? (32)
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ بَلْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿۳۳﴾
Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! (33)
فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ ﴿۳۴﴾
Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! (34)
أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ ﴿۳۵﴾
Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? (35)
أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بَلْ لَا يُوقِنُونَ ﴿۳۶﴾
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. (36)
أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ ﴿۳۷﴾
Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? (37)
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ ﴿۳۸﴾
Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. (38)
أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ ﴿۳۹﴾
Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? (39)
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُونَ ﴿۴۰﴾
Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- (40)
أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ ﴿۴۱﴾
Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? (41)
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ ﴿۴۲﴾
Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! (42)
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ﴿۴۳﴾
Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! (43)
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَرْكُومٌ ﴿۴۴﴾
Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" (44)
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّى يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ ﴿۴۵﴾
So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- (45)
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ ﴿۴۶﴾
The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. (46)
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۴۷﴾
And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. (47)
وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ﴿۴۸﴾
Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, (48)
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ ﴿۴۹﴾
And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! (49)
Sura 53: AN-NAJM (THE STAR)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى ﴿۱﴾
By the Star when it goes down,- (1)
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَى ﴿۲﴾
Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. (2)
وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى ﴿۳﴾
Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. (3)
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى ﴿۴﴾
It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: (4)
عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَى ﴿۵﴾
He was taught by one Mighty in Power, (5)
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَى ﴿۶﴾
Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); (6)
وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَى ﴿۷﴾
While he was in the highest part of the horizon: (7)
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّى ﴿۸﴾
Then he approached and came closer, (8)
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى ﴿۹﴾
And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; (9)
فَأَوْحَى إِلَى عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَى ﴿۱۰﴾
So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. (10)
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَى ﴿۱۱﴾
The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. (11)
أَفَتُمَارُونَهُ عَلَى مَا يَرَى ﴿۱۲﴾
Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? (12)
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَى ﴿۱۳﴾
For indeed he saw him at a second descent, (13)
عِنْدَ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى ﴿۱۴﴾
Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: (14)
عِنْدَهَا جَنَّةُ الْمَأْوَى ﴿۱۵﴾
Near it is the Garden of Abode. (15)
إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَى ﴿۱۶﴾
Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) (16)
مَا زَاغَ الْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَى ﴿۱۷﴾
(His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! (17)
لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَى ﴿۱۸﴾
For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! (18)
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّى ﴿۱۹﴾
Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, (19)
وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرَى ﴿۲۰﴾
And another, the third (goddess), Manat? (20)
أَلَكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الْأُنْثَى ﴿۲۱﴾
What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female? (21)
تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَى ﴿۲۲﴾
Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! (22)
إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا أَسْمَاءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى الْأَنْفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمُ الْهُدَى ﴿۲۳﴾
These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! (23)
أَمْ لِلْإِنْسَانِ مَا تَمَنَّى ﴿۲۴﴾
Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? (24)
فَلِلَّهِ الْآخِرَةُ وَالْأُولَى ﴿۲۵﴾
But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. (25)
وَكَمْ مِنْ مَلَكٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ لَا تُغْنِي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَرْضَى ﴿۲۶﴾
How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him. (26)
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ الْأُنْثَى ﴿۲۷﴾
Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names. (27)
وَمَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا ﴿۲۸﴾
But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth. (28)
فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْ مَنْ تَوَلَّى عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا ﴿۲۹﴾
Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world. (29)
ذَلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَى ﴿۳۰﴾
That is as far as knowledge will reach them. Verily thy Lord knoweth best those who stray from His Path, and He knoweth best those who receive guidance. (30)
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا بِالْحُسْنَى ﴿۳۱﴾
Yea, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best. (31)
الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنْشَأَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنْتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ فَلَا تُزَكُّوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقَى ﴿۳۲﴾
Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil. (32)
أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي تَوَلَّى ﴿۳۳﴾
Seest thou one who turns back, (33)
وَأَعْطَى قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَى ﴿۳۴﴾
Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? (34)
أَعِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ الْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَى ﴿۳۵﴾
What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? (35)
أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَى ﴿۳۶﴾
Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- (36)
وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِي وَفَّى ﴿۳۷﴾
And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- (37)
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى ﴿۳۸﴾
Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; (38)
وَأَنْ لَيْسَ لِلْإِنْسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَى ﴿۳۹﴾
That man can have nothing but what he strives for; (39)
وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَى ﴿۴۰﴾
That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: (40)
ثُمَّ يُجْزَاهُ الْجَزَاءَ الْأَوْفَى ﴿۴۱﴾
Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; (41)
وَأَنَّ إِلَى رَبِّكَ الْمُنْتَهَى ﴿۴۲﴾
That to thy Lord is the final Goal; (42)
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَى ﴿۴۳﴾
That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; (43)
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا ﴿۴۴﴾
That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; (44)
وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَى ﴿۴۵﴾
That He did create in pairs,- male and female, (45)
مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَى ﴿۴۶﴾
From a seed when lodged (in its place); (46)
وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُخْرَى ﴿۴۷﴾
That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); (47)
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَغْنَى وَأَقْنَى ﴿۴۸﴾
That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; (48)
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرَى ﴿۴۹﴾
That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); (49)
وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الْأُولَى ﴿۵۰﴾
And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), (50)
وَثَمُودَ فَمَا أَبْقَى ﴿۵۱﴾
And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. (51)
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَى ﴿۵۲﴾
And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, (52)
وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَى ﴿۵۳﴾
And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). (53)
فَغَشَّاهَا مَا غَشَّى ﴿۵۴﴾
So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. (54)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَى ﴿۵۵﴾
Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? (55)
هَذَا نَذِيرٌ مِنَ النُّذُرِ الْأُولَى ﴿۵۶﴾
This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! (56)
أَزِفَتِ الْآزِفَةُ ﴿۵۷﴾
The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: (57)
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ﴿۵۸﴾
No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. (58)
أَفَمِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ ﴿۵۹﴾
Do ye then wonder at this recital? (59)
وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ ﴿۶۰﴾
And will ye laugh and not weep,- (60)
وَأَنْتُمْ سَامِدُونَ ﴿۶۱﴾
Wasting your time in vanities? (61)
فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا ﴿۶۲﴾
But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! (62)
Sura 54: AL-QAMAR (THE MOON)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ ﴿۱﴾
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. (1)
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ ﴿۲﴾
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." (2)
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ ﴿۳﴾
They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. (3)
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ ﴿۴﴾
There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), (4)
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ ﴿۵﴾
Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. (5)
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ ﴿۶﴾
Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair, (6)
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ ﴿۷﴾
They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, (7)
مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ ﴿۸﴾
Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. (8)
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ ﴿۹﴾
Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. (9)
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ ﴿۱۰﴾
Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" (10)
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ ﴿۱۱﴾
So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. (11)
وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ ﴿۱۲﴾
And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. (12)
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ ﴿۱۳﴾
But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: (13)
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ ﴿۱۴﴾
She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! (14)
وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۱۵﴾
And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? (15)
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۱۶﴾
But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? (16)
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۱۷﴾
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (17)
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۱۸﴾
The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? (18)
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرٍّ ﴿۱۹﴾
For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, (19)
تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُنْقَعِرٍ ﴿۲۰﴾
Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). (20)
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۲۱﴾
Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! (21)
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۲۲﴾
But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (22)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ ﴿۲۳﴾
The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. (23)
فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِنَّا وَاحِدًا نَتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ ﴿۲۴﴾
For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! (24)
أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ ﴿۲۵﴾
"Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" (25)
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ ﴿۲۶﴾
Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! (26)
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ ﴿۲۷﴾
For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! (27)
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُحْتَضَرٌ ﴿۲۸﴾
And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). (28)
فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَى فَعَقَرَ ﴿۲۹﴾
But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). (29)
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۳۰﴾
Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! (30)
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ ﴿۳۱﴾
For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. (31)
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۳۲﴾
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (32)
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ ﴿۳۳﴾
The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. (33)
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ ﴿۳۴﴾
We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- (34)
نِعْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ ﴿۳۵﴾
As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. (35)
وَلَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ ﴿۳۶﴾
And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. (36)
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَنْ ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۳۷﴾
And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." (37)
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرٌّ ﴿۳۸﴾
Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: (38)
فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ﴿۳۹﴾
"So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." (39)
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۴۰﴾
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (40)
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ ﴿۴۱﴾
To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). (41)
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ ﴿۴۲﴾
The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. (42)
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُولَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ ﴿۴۳﴾
Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? (43)
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُنْتَصِرٌ ﴿۴۴﴾
Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? (44)
سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ ﴿۴۵﴾
Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. (45)
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ ﴿۴۶﴾
Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. (46)
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ ﴿۴۷﴾
Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. (47)
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ ﴿۴۸﴾
The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" (48)
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ ﴿۴۹﴾
Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure. (49)
وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ ﴿۵۰﴾
And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye. (50)
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ ﴿۵۱﴾
And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? (51)
وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ ﴿۵۲﴾
All that they do is noted in (their) Books (of Deeds): (52)
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ ﴿۵۳﴾
Every matter, small and great, is on record. (53)
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ ﴿۵۴﴾
As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers, (54)
فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ ﴿۵۵﴾
In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. (55)
Sura 55: AR-RAHMAN (THE BENEFICENT)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
الرَّحْمَنُ ﴿۱﴾
(Allah) Most Gracious! (1)
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴿۲﴾
It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. (2)
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ ﴿۳﴾
He has created man: (3)
عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ ﴿۴﴾
He has taught him speech (and intelligence). (4)
الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ﴿۵﴾
The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; (5)
وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ ﴿۶﴾
And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. (6)
وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ ﴿۷﴾
And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), (7)
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ ﴿۸﴾
In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. (8)
وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ ﴿۹﴾
So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. (9)
وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ﴿۱۰﴾
It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: (10)
فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ ﴿۱۱﴾
Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); (11)
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ ﴿۱۲﴾
Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. (12)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۳﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (13)
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ ﴿۱۴﴾
He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, (14)
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ ﴿۱۵﴾
And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: (15)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۶﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (16)
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ ﴿۱۷﴾
(He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: (17)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۱۸﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (18)
مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ ﴿۱۹﴾
He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: (19)
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ ﴿۲۰﴾
Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: (20)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۱﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (21)
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ﴿۲۲﴾
Out of them come Pearls and Coral: (22)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۳﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (23)
وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ ﴿۲۴﴾
And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: (24)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۵﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (25)
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ ﴿۲۶﴾
All that is on earth will perish: (26)
وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ﴿۲۷﴾
But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. (27)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۲۸﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (28)
يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ ﴿۲۹﴾
Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)! (29)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۰﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (30)
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ ﴿۳۱﴾
Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds! (31)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۲﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (32)
يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ ﴿۳۳﴾
O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! (33)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۴﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (34)
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ ﴿۳۵﴾
On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have: (35)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۶﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (36)
فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ ﴿۳۷﴾
When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment: (37)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۳۸﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (38)
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۳۹﴾
On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin. (39)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۰﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (40)
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ ﴿۴۱﴾
(For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. (41)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۲﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (42)
هَذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ﴿۴۳﴾
This is the Hell which the Sinners deny: (43)
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ﴿۴۴﴾
In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round! (44)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۵﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (45)
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ ﴿۴۶﴾
But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens- (46)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۷﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (47)
ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ ﴿۴۸﴾
Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);- (48)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۴۹﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (49)
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ ﴿۵۰﴾
In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free); (50)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۱﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (51)
فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ﴿۵۲﴾
In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two. (52)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۳﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (53)
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ ﴿۵۴﴾
They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach). (54)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۵﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (55)
فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۵۶﴾
In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- (56)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۷﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (57)
كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ﴿۵۸﴾
Like unto Rubies and coral. (58)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۵۹﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (59)
هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ ﴿۶۰﴾
Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good? (60)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۱﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (61)
وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ﴿۶۲﴾
And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- (62)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۳﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (63)
مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ﴿۶۴﴾
Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering). (64)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۵﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (65)
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ﴿۶۶﴾
In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance: (66)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۷﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (67)
فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ ﴿۶۸﴾
In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: (68)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۶۹﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (69)
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ﴿۷۰﴾
In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;- (70)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۱﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (71)
حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ ﴿۷۲﴾
Companions restrained (as to their glances), in (goodly) pavilions;- (72)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۳﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (73)
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ﴿۷۴﴾
Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- (74)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۵﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- (75)
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ ﴿۷۶﴾
Reclining on green Cushions and rich Carpets of beauty. (76)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿۷۷﴾
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (77)
تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ﴿۷۸﴾
Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. (78)
Sura 56: AL-WAQIA (THE EVENT)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ ﴿۱﴾
When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, (1)
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ﴿۲﴾
Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. (2)
خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ ﴿۳﴾
(Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; (3)
إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا ﴿۴﴾
When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, (4)
وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ﴿۵﴾
And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, (5)
فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا ﴿۶﴾
Becoming dust scattered abroad, (6)
وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً ﴿۷﴾
And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. (7)
فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ﴿۸﴾
Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? (8)
وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ ﴿۹﴾
And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? (9)
وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ ﴿۱۰﴾
And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). (10)
أُولَئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿۱۱﴾
These will be those Nearest to Allah: (11)
فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ ﴿۱۲﴾
In Gardens of Bliss: (12)
ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿۱۳﴾
A number of people from those of old, (13)
وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ ﴿۱۴﴾
And a few from those of later times. (14)
عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ ﴿۱۵﴾
(They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), (15)
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ ﴿۱۶﴾
Reclining on them, facing each other. (16)
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ ﴿۱۷﴾
Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), (17)
بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ ﴿۱۸﴾
With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: (18)
لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنْزِفُونَ ﴿۱۹﴾
No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: (19)
وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ﴿۲۰﴾
And with fruits, any that they may select: (20)
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿۲۱﴾
And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. (21)
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ﴿۲۲﴾
And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- (22)
كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ ﴿۲۳﴾
Like unto Pearls well-guarded. (23)
جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۲۴﴾
A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). (24)
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ﴿۲۵﴾
Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- (25)
إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا ﴿۲۶﴾
Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". (26)
وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ ﴿۲۷﴾
The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? (27)
فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ ﴿۲۸﴾
(They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, (28)
وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ ﴿۲۹﴾
Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- (29)
وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ ﴿۳۰﴾
In shade long-extended, (30)
وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ ﴿۳۱﴾
By water flowing constantly, (31)
وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ﴿۳۲﴾
And fruit in abundance. (32)
لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ ﴿۳۳﴾
Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, (33)
وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ ﴿۳۴﴾
And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. (34)
إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً ﴿۳۵﴾
We have created (their Companions) of special creation. (35)
فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا ﴿۳۶﴾
And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - (36)
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا ﴿۳۷﴾
Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- (37)
لِأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ﴿۳۸﴾
For the Companions of the Right Hand. (38)
ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿۳۹﴾
A (goodly) number from those of old, (39)
وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ ﴿۴۰﴾
And a (goodly) number from those of later times. (40)
وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ ﴿۴۱﴾
The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? (41)
فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ ﴿۴۲﴾
(They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, (42)
وَظِلٍّ مِنْ يَحْمُومٍ ﴿۴۳﴾
And in the shades of Black Smoke: (43)
لَا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ﴿۴۴﴾
Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please: (44)
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ ﴿۴۵﴾
For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), (45)
وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۴۶﴾
And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! (46)
وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ﴿۴۷﴾
And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?- (47)
أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ ﴿۴۸﴾
"(We) and our fathers of old?" (48)
قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ ﴿۴۹﴾
Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, (49)
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَى مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ ﴿۵۰﴾
"All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. (50)
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿۵۱﴾
"Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- (51)
لَآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ ﴿۵۲﴾
"Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. (52)
فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ ﴿۵۳﴾
"Then will ye fill your insides therewith, (53)
فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ ﴿۵۴﴾
"And drink Boiling Water on top of it: (54)
فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ ﴿۵۵﴾
"Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" (55)
هَذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ ﴿۵۶﴾
Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! (56)
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ ﴿۵۷﴾
It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? (57)
أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ ﴿۵۸﴾
Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- (58)
أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ ﴿۵۹﴾
Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? (59)
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ﴿۶۰﴾
We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated (60)
عَلَى أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۶۱﴾
from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. (61)
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿۶۲﴾
And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? (62)
أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ ﴿۶۳﴾
See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? (63)
أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ ﴿۶۴﴾
Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? (64)
لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ ﴿۶۵﴾
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, (65)
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ ﴿۶۶﴾
(Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): (66)
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ ﴿۶۷﴾
"Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" (67)
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ ﴿۶۸﴾
See ye the water which ye drink? (68)
أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ ﴿۶۹﴾
Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? (69)
لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿۷۰﴾
Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? (70)
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ ﴿۷۱﴾
See ye the Fire which ye kindle? (71)
أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ ﴿۷۲﴾
Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? (72)
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ ﴿۷۳﴾
We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. (73)
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۷۴﴾
Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme! (74)
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ ﴿۷۵﴾
Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- (75)
وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ﴿۷۶﴾
And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- (76)
إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ ﴿۷۷﴾
That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable, (77)
فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ ﴿۷۸﴾
In Book well-guarded, (78)
لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ ﴿۷۹﴾
Which none shall touch but those who are clean: (79)
تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۸۰﴾
A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. (80)
أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ ﴿۸۱﴾
Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem? (81)
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿۸۲﴾
And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? (82)
فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ ﴿۸۳﴾
Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- (83)
وَأَنْتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنْظُرُونَ ﴿۸۴﴾
And ye the while (sit) looking on,- (84)
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَكِنْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿۸۵﴾
But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,- (85)
فَلَوْلَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ ﴿۸۶﴾
Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,- (86)
تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴿۸۷﴾
Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? (87)
فَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴿۸۸﴾
Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, (88)
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ ﴿۸۹﴾
(There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. (89)
وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ﴿۹۰﴾
And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, (90)
فَسَلَامٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ﴿۹۱﴾
(For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. (91)
وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ ﴿۹۲﴾
And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong, (92)
فَنُزُلٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ ﴿۹۳﴾
For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water. (93)
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ ﴿۹۴﴾
And burning in Hell-Fire. (94)
إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ ﴿۹۵﴾
Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. (95)
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۹۶﴾
So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. (96)
Sura 57: AL-HADID (THE IRON)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ﴿۱﴾
Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah: for He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (1)
لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿۲﴾
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things. (2)
هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿۳﴾
He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things. (3)
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ﴿۴﴾
He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah sees well all that ye do. (4)
لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ ﴿۵﴾
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah. (5)
يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ ﴿۶﴾
He merges Night into Day, and He merges Day into Night; and He has full knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts. (6)
آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَأَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا جَعَلَكُمْ مُسْتَخْلَفِينَ فِيهِ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَأَنْفَقُوا لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ ﴿۷﴾
Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity),- for them is a great Reward. (7)
وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِتُؤْمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ مِيثَاقَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۸﴾
What cause have ye why ye should not believe in Allah?- and the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and has indeed taken your Covenant, if ye are men of Faith. (8)
هُوَ الَّذِي يُنَزِّلُ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ ﴿۹﴾
He is the One Who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs, that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into the Light and verily Allah is to you most kind and Merciful. (9)
وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تُنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاثُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَا يَسْتَوِي مِنْكُمْ مَنْ أَنْفَقَ مِنْ قَبْلِ الْفَتْحِ وَقَاتَلَ أُولَئِكَ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً مِنَ الَّذِينَ أَنْفَقُوا مِنْ بَعْدُ وَقَاتَلُوا وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَى وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ ﴿۱۰﴾
And what cause have ye why ye should not spend in the cause of Allah?- For to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do. (10)
مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا فَيُضَاعِفَهُ لَهُ وَلَهُ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ ﴿۱۱﴾
Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward. (11)
يَوْمَ تَرَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَسْعَى نُورُهُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَانِهِمْ بُشْرَاكُمُ الْيَوْمَ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ ﴿۱۲﴾
One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): "Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!" (12)
يَوْمَ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا انْظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِنْ نُورِكُمْ قِيلَ ارْجِعُوا وَرَاءَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوا نُورًا فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِسُورٍ لَهُ بَابٌ بَاطِنُهُ فِيهِ الرَّحْمَةُ وَظَاهِرُهُ مِنْ قِبَلِهِ الْعَذَابُ ﴿۱۳﴾
One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment! (13)
يُنَادُونَهُمْ أَلَمْ نَكُنْ مَعَكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى وَلَكِنَّكُمْ فَتَنْتُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَتَرَبَّصْتُمْ وَارْتَبْتُمْ وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْأَمَانِيُّ حَتَّى جَاءَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ ﴿۱۴﴾
(Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) will reply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to our ruin); ye doubted (Allah's Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah. (14)
فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْكُمْ فِدْيَةٌ وَلَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ هِيَ مَوْلَاكُمْ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ ﴿۱۵﴾
"This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah." Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!" (15)
أَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا يَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ ﴿۱۶﴾
Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. (16)
اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿۱۷﴾
Know ye (all) that Allah giveth life to the earth after its death! already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that ye may learn wisdom. (17)
إِنَّ الْمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَالْمُصَّدِّقَاتِ وَأَقْرَضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَاعَفُ لَهُمْ وَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ ﴿۱۸﴾
For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward. (18)
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الصِّدِّيقُونَ وَالشُّهَدَاءُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ وَنُورُهُمْ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ ﴿۱۹﴾
And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are the Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: They shall have their Reward and their Light. But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the Companions of Hell-Fire. (19)
اعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ الْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَامًا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانٌ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ ﴿۲۰﴾
Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception? (20)
سَابِقُوا إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا كَعَرْضِ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ أُعِدَّتْ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۲۱﴾
Be ye foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden (of Bliss), the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers: that is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom he pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding. (21)
مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَبْرَأَهَا إِنَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ ﴿۲۲﴾
No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah: (22)
لِكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا عَلَى مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا تَفْرَحُوا بِمَا آتَاكُمْ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ ﴿۲۳﴾
In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious boaster,- (23)
الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبُخْلِ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ ﴿۲۴﴾
Such persons as are covetous and commend covetousness to men. And if any turn back (from Allah's Way), verily Allah is Free of all Needs, Worthy of all Praise. (24)
لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَنْزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ وَأَنْزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَنْصُرُهُ وَرُسُلَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ ﴿۲۵﴾
We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will). (25)
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ فَمِنْهُمْ مُهْتَدٍ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ ﴿۲۶﴾
And We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors. (26)
ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْإِنْجِيلَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً ابْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَاهَا عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا فَآتَيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ ﴿۲۷﴾
Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors. (27)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَآمِنُوا بِرَسُولِهِ يُؤْتِكُمْ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ نُورًا تَمْشُونَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ ﴿۲۸﴾
O ye that believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, and He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a Light by which ye shall walk (straight in your path), and He will forgive you (your past): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (28)
لِئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۲۹﴾
That the People of the Book may know that they have no power whatever over the Grace of Allah, that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His Hand, to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. For Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding. (29)
