بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
﴿۱﴾
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; (1)
وَإِذَا النُّجُومُ انْكَدَرَتْ
﴿۲﴾
When the stars fall, losing their lustre; (2)
وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
﴿۳﴾
When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); (3)
وَإِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
﴿۴﴾
When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; (4)
وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
﴿۵﴾
When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); (5)
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
﴿۶﴾
When the oceans boil over with a swell; (6)
وَإِذَا النُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
﴿۷﴾
When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); (7)
وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ
﴿۸﴾
When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - (8)
بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ
﴿۹﴾
For what crime she was killed; (9)
وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
﴿۱۰﴾
When the scrolls are laid open; (10)
