Sura 70: AL-MAARIJ (THE ASCENDING STAIRWAYS) - Juz' 29 - Translation Shakir
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍ
﴿۱﴾
One demanding, demanded the chastisement which must befall (1)
لِلْكَافِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌ
﴿۲﴾
The unbelievers-- there is none to avert it-- (2)
مِنَ اللَّهِ ذِي الْمَعَارِجِ
﴿۳﴾
From Allah, the Lord of the ways of Ascent (3)
تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ
﴿۴﴾
To Him ascend the angels and the Spirit in a day the measure of which is fifty thousand years (4)
فَاصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا
﴿۵﴾
Therefore endure with a goodly patience (5)
إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا
﴿۶﴾
Surely they think it to be far off, (6)
وَنَرَاهُ قَرِيبًا
﴿۷﴾
And We see it nigh (7)
يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَاءُ كَالْمُهْلِ
﴿۸﴾
On the day when the heaven shall be as molten copper (8)
وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ
﴿۹﴾
And the mountains shall be as tufts of wool (9)
وَلَا يَسْأَلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًا
﴿۱۰﴾
And friend shall not ask of friend (10)
