Sura 2: AL-BAQARA (THE COW) - Juz' 2

Qarib: Believers, seek assistance in patience and prayer, Allah is with those who are patient.
Sarwar: Believers, help yourselves (in your affairs) through patience and prayer; God is with those who have patience.
Shakir: O you who believe! seek assistance through patience and prayer; surely Allah is with the patient
Pickthall: O ye who believe! Seek help in steadfastness and prayer. Lo! Allah is with the steadfast.
Yusufali: O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere.
Qarib: Do not say that those killed in the Way of Allah are dead, they are alive, although you are unaware.
Sarwar: Do not consider those who are slain for the cause of God to be dead. They are alive but you are unaware of them.
Shakir: And do not speak of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead; nay, (they are) alive, but you do not perceive
Pickthall: And call not those who are slain in the way of Allah "dead." Nay, they are living, only ye perceive not.
Yusufali: And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.
Qarib: We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, and decrease of goods, life and fruits. Give glad tidings to the patient,
Sarwar: We shall test you through fear, hunger, loss of life, property, and crops. (Muhammad), give glad news to the people who have patience
Shakir: And We will most certainly try you with somewhat of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to the patient,
Pickthall: And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast,
Yusufali: Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere,
Qarib: who, in adversity say: 'We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. '
Sarwar: and in difficulty say, "We are the servants of God and to Him we shall all return".
Shakir: Who, when a misfortune befalls them, say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return
Pickthall: Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning.
Yusufali: Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return":-
Qarib: On those will be prayers and mercy from their Lord, those are guided.
Sarwar: It is they who will receive blessings and mercy from God and who follow the right guidance.
Shakir: Those are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and those are the followers of the right course
Pickthall: Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided.
Yusufali: They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.
Qarib: Safah and Marwah are the waymarks of Allah. Whoever performs the pilgrimage to the House or the visit, there shall be no guilt on him to circumambulate between both of them. And whoever volunteers good, Allah is Thankful, the Knower.
Sarwar: Safa and Marwah (names of two places in Mecca) are reminders of God. It is no sin for one who visits the Sacred House (in Mecca) to walk seven times between (Safa and Marwah.) Whoever willingly does a good deed in obedience to God, will find God All-knowing and Fully Appreciative.
Shakir: Surely the Safa and the Marwa are among the signs appointed by Allah; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit (to it), there is no blame on him if he goes round them both; and whoever does good spontaneously, then surely Allah is Grateful, Knowing
Pickthall: Lo! (the mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the indications of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who is on pilgrimage to the House (of Allah) or visiteth it, to go around them (as the pagan custom is). And he who doeth good of his own accord, (for him) lo! Allah is Responsive, Aware.
Yusufali: Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if those who visit the House in the Season or at other times, should compass them round, it is no sin in them. And if any one obeyeth his own impulse to good,- be sure that Allah is He Who recogniseth and knoweth.
Qarib: Those who hide the clear verses and the guidance We have sent down after We have clarified them in the Book for the people shall be cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers,
Sarwar: Those who hide the authoritative proofs and the guidance that We have revealed, after it has been made clear for the People of the Book, will be condemned by God and those who have the right to condemn.
Shakir: Surely those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance that We revealed after We made it clear in the Book for men, these it is whom Allah shall curse, and those who curse shall curse them (too)
Pickthall: Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse.
Yusufali: Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah's curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse,-
Qarib: except those who repent, and mend (their deeds) and clarify. Those I shall accept them. I am the Receiver of repentance, the Most Merciful.
Sarwar: However, I shall accept the repentance of those of them who repent for their sins, reform their manners, and preach the truth; I am All-forgiving and All-merciful.
Shakir: Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth), these it is to whom I turn (mercifully); and I am the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful
Pickthall: Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful.
Yusufali: Except those who repent and make amends and openly declare (the Truth): To them I turn; for I am Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
Qarib: But those who disbelieve, and die disbelieving shall incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.
Sarwar: Those who deny My existence and die with such attitude will be subject to the condemnation of God, the angels, and all people.
Shakir: Surely those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, these it is on whom is the curse of Allah and the angels and men all;
Pickthall: Lo! Those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers; on them is the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined.
Yusufali: Those who reject Faith, and die rejecting,- on them is Allah's curse, and the curse of angels, and of all mankind;
Qarib: They are there (in the Fire) for eternity neither shall the punishment be lightened for them; nor shall they be given respite.
Sarwar: They will live condemned forever, will have no relief from the torment, and no attention will be paid to them.
Shakir: Abiding in it; their chastisement shall not be lightened nor shall they be given respite
Pickthall: They ever dwell therein. The doom will not be lightened for them, neither will they be reprieved.
Yusufali: They will abide therein: Their penalty will not be lightened, nor will respite be their (lot).
