In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Qarib: Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran!
Sarwar: By Qaf and the glorious Quran, (you are the Messenger of God).
Shakir: Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)
Pickthall: Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an,
Yusufali: Qaf: By the Glorious Qur'an (Thou art Allah's Messenger).
Qarib: No, but they marvel that from among themselves a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say (in mockery): 'This is a marvelous thing!
Sarwar: In fact, it seems odd (to the pagans) that a warner from their own people has come to them. The disbelievers have said, "It is very strange
Shakir: Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing:
Pickthall: Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing:
Yusufali: But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing!
Qarib: What, when we are dead and turned to dust? That indeed would be an unlikely return! '
Sarwar: that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality".
Shakir: What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return
Pickthall: When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return!
Yusufali: "What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)."
Qarib: We know all that the earth takes away of them, and a Book of Records is with Us.
Sarwar: We already know how much of them (of their bodies) the earth will consume. With Us there is a Book that contains all records.
Shakir: We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves
Pickthall: We know that which the earth taketh of them, and with Us is a recording Book.
Yusufali: We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account).
Qarib: Rather, they belied the truth when it came to them, and now they are in a state of confusion.
Sarwar: In fact, they have rejected the truth that has come to them, thus, they live in confusion.
Shakir: Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion
Pickthall: Nay, but they have denied the truth when it came unto them, therefor they are now in troubled case.
Yusufali: But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state.
Qarib: What, have they never observed the heaven above them, (and seen) how We built and adorned it, leaving no crack?
Sarwar: Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks?
Shakir: Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps?
Pickthall: Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein?
Yusufali: Do they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?
Qarib: We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it
Sarwar: (Have they not seen) how We have spread out the earth, placed on it firm mountains and have made all kinds of flourishing pairs of plants grow?
Shakir: And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds,
Pickthall: And the earth have We spread out, and have flung firm hills therein, and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon,
Yusufali: And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-
Qarib: as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper.
Sarwar: This is a reminder and it sharpens the insight of every servant of God who turns to Him in repentance.
Shakir: To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah)
Pickthall: A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave.
Yusufali: To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah).
Qarib: We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow,
Sarwar: We have sent blessed water down from the sky to grow gardens, harvestable crops
Shakir: And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped,
Pickthall: And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops,
Yusufali: And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests;

Qarib: as a provision for the worshipers; thereby We revived a land that was dead. Such shall be the emerging.
Sarwar: as sustenance for My servants. With this We have brought the dead land back to life. Thus, will also be your resurrection.
Shakir: A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising
Pickthall: Provision (made) for men; and therewith We quicken a dead land. Even so will be the resurrection of the dead.
Yusufali: As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection.
Qarib: Before them, the nation of Noah, the nation of ArRass belied and so did Thamood
Sarwar: The people of Noah, dwellers of the Ra's, Thamud,
Shakir: (Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood,
Pickthall: The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud,
Yusufali: Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud,

Qarib: the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized.
Sarwar: dwellers of the forest, and the people of Tubba had all rejected the Prophets. Thus, they became subject to Our torment.
Shakir: And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the messengers, so My threat came to pass
Pickthall: And the dwellers in the wood, and the folk of Tubb'a: every one denied their messengers, therefor My threat took effect.
Yusufali: The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them).
Qarib: What, were We wearied by the first creation? No, indeed; yet they are in doubt about a new creation.
Sarwar: Did We fail to accomplish the first creation? Of course, We did not; We have all power over all things. Yet they are confused about a new creation.
Shakir: Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation
Pickthall: Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation.
Yusufali: Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation?
Qarib: Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein.
Sarwar: We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein.
Shakir: And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein
Pickthall: We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein.
Yusufali: It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.

Sarwar: (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong".
Shakir: Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp
Pickthall: (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day.
Yusufali: (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!"

Qarib: How many generations, stronger in might than they have We destroyed before them! They searched the land, could they find any asylum?
Sarwar: How many an ancient town who were much stronger than them (unbelievers) did We destroy. (In vain), they wandered through the land in search of a place of refuge from Our torment.
Shakir: And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they, so they went about and about in the lands. Is there a place of refuge?
Pickthall: And how many a generation We destroyed before them, who were mightier than these in prowess so that they overran the lands! Had they any place of refuge (when the judgment came)?
Yusufali: But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?

Qarib: Bear then with patience what they say. Exalt with the praise of your Lord before sunrise and before sunset.
Sarwar: (Muhammad), exercise patience against what they say. Glorify your Lord with His praise before sunrise and sunset.
Shakir: Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the setting
Pickthall: Therefor (O Muhammad) bear with what they say, and hymn the praise of thy Lord before the rising and before the setting of the sun;
Yusufali: Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.
Qarib: And exalt Him in the night, and at the ends of the prostrations.
Sarwar: Glorify Him during the night and also glorify Him after prostration.
Shakir: And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers
Pickthall: And in the night-time hymn His praise, and after the (prescribed) prostrations.
Yusufali: And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration.
Qarib: Listen for the Day when the Caller will call from a nearby place.
Sarwar: Wait for the day when the trumpet will be sounded from a nearby place.
Shakir: And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place
Pickthall: And listen on the day when the crier crieth from a near place,
Yusufali: And listen for the Day when the Caller will call out from a place quiet near,-
Qarib: On the Day when they will hear the Shout, in truth that Day they will emerge.
Sarwar: On that day they will certainly hear the sound of the trumpet and that will be the Day of Resurrection.
Shakir: The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth
Pickthall: The day when they will hear the (Awful) Cry in truth. That is the day of coming forth (from the graves).
Yusufali: The Day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the Day of Resurrection.
Qarib: It is We who give life and make to die. To Us is the arrival.
Sarwar: We give life and cause things to die. To Us all things will return.
Shakir: Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the eventual coming;
Pickthall: Lo! We it is Who quicken and give death, and unto Us is the journeying.
Yusufali: Verily it is We Who give Life and Death; and to Us is the Final Goal-
