سوره 88: الغاشية - جزء 30

لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ ﴿۷﴾
Qarib: which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger.
Sarwar: which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them.
Shakir: Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger
Pickthall: Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.
Yusufali: Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ ﴿۸﴾
Qarib: (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful,
Sarwar: However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy.
Shakir: (Other) faces on that day shall be happy,
Pickthall: In that day other faces will be calm,
Yusufali: (Other) faces that Day will be joyful,
لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ﴿۹﴾
Qarib: well pleased with their striving,
Sarwar: and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past.
Shakir: Well-pleased because of their striving,
Pickthall: Glad for their effort past,
Yusufali: Pleased with their striving,-
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ﴿۱۰﴾
Qarib: in a Garden on high,
Sarwar: They will live in an exalted garden
Shakir: In a lofty garden,
Pickthall: In a high Garden
Yusufali: In a Garden on high,
لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً ﴿۱۱﴾
Qarib: where they will hear no idle talk.
Sarwar: wherein they will not hear any vain talk.
Shakir: Wherein you shall not hear vain talk
Pickthall: Where they hear no idle speech,
Yusufali: Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity:
فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ ﴿۱۲﴾
Qarib: A gushing fountain shall be there
Sarwar: Therein will be a flowing spring,
Shakir: Therein is a fountain flowing,
Pickthall: Wherein is a gushing spring,
Yusufali: Therein will be a bubbling spring:
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ ﴿۱۳﴾
Qarib: and raised couches,
Sarwar: raised couches,
Shakir: Therein are thrones raised high,
Pickthall: Wherein are couches raised
Yusufali: Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high,
وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ ﴿۱۴﴾
Qarib: and prepared goblets,
Sarwar: well arranged goblets,
Shakir: And drinking-cups ready placed,
Pickthall: And goblets set at hand
Yusufali: Goblets placed (ready),
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ ﴿۱۵﴾
Qarib: and arranged cushions
Sarwar: well-placed cushions,
Shakir: And cushions set in a row,
Pickthall: And cushions ranged
Yusufali: And cushions set in rows,
وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ ﴿۱۶﴾
Qarib: and outspread carpets.
Sarwar: and well spread carpets.
Shakir: And carpets spread out
Pickthall: And silken carpets spread.
Yusufali: And rich carpets (all) spread out.
