Sura 86: AT-TARIQ (THE MORNING STAR) - Juz' 30

إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ ﴿۸﴾
Qarib: Surely, He is Able to bring him back,
Sarwar: God has all power to resurrect him.
Shakir: Most surely He is able to return him (to life)
Pickthall: Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)
Yusufali: Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)!
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ﴿۹﴾
Qarib: on the Day when consciences are examined,
Sarwar: On the day when all secrets will be made public,
Shakir: On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest,
Pickthall: On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out.
Yusufali: The Day that (all) things secret will be tested,
فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ ﴿۱۰﴾
Qarib: when he will be helpless, with no supporter.
Sarwar: he will have no power, nor anyone to help him.
Shakir: He shall have neither strength nor helper
Pickthall: Then will he have no might nor any helper.
Yusufali: (Man) will have no power, and no helper.
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ ﴿۱۱﴾
Qarib: By the sky with its returning rain,
Sarwar: By the rotating heavens
Shakir: I swear by the raingiving heavens,
Pickthall: By the heaven which giveth the returning rain,
Yusufali: By the Firmament which returns (in its round),
وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ ﴿۱۲﴾
Qarib: and by the earth bursting with vegetation;
Sarwar: and the replenishing earth,
Shakir: And the earth splitting (with plants);
Pickthall: And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)
Yusufali: And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),-
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ ﴿۱۳﴾
Qarib: this is indeed a Decisive Word,
Sarwar: the Quran is the final word,
Shakir: Most surely it is a decisive word,
Pickthall: Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,
Yusufali: Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil):
وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ ﴿۱۴﴾
Qarib: it is not a jest.
Sarwar: and it is certainly not a jest.
Shakir: And it is no joke
Pickthall: It is no pleasantry.
Yusufali: It is not a thing for amusement.
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ﴿۱۵﴾
Qarib: They are cunningly devising,
Sarwar: They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan,
Shakir: Surely they will make a scheme,
Pickthall: Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)
Yusufali: As for them, they are but plotting a scheme,
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا ﴿۱۶﴾
Qarib: and I am cunningly devising.
Sarwar: but I too plan against them.
Shakir: And I (too) will make a scheme
Pickthall: And I plot a plot (against them).
Yusufali: And I am planning a scheme.
فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا ﴿۱۷﴾
Qarib: Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while.
Sarwar: Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while.
Shakir: So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a
Pickthall: So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.
Yusufali: Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).
