ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
﴿۱۷﴾
Qarib: and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied! '
Sarwar: and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". Shakir: Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to Pickthall: And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. Yusufali: Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false!
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
﴿۱۸﴾
Qarib: But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon.
Sarwar: However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. Shakir: Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin Pickthall: Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - Yusufali: Day, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
﴿۱۹﴾
Qarib: What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is!
Sarwar: Would that you knew what Illiyin is! Shakir: And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? Pickthall: Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - Yusufali: And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is?
كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ
﴿۲۰﴾
Qarib: (It is) a marked Book,
Sarwar: It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). Shakir: It is a written book, Pickthall: A written record, Yusufali: (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed,
يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
﴿۲۱﴾
Qarib: witnessed by those who are near (to Allah).
Sarwar: The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. Shakir: Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it Pickthall: Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). Yusufali: To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah).
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
﴿۲۲﴾
Qarib: The righteous shall indeed be blissful,
Sarwar: The virtuous will live in bliss, Shakir: Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, Pickthall: Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, Yusufali: Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss:
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ
﴿۲۳﴾
Qarib: (reclining) upon couches they will gaze,
Sarwar: reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). Shakir: On thrones, they shall gaze; Pickthall: On couches, gazing, Yusufali: On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things):
تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ
﴿۲۴﴾
Qarib: and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss.
Sarwar: You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. Shakir: You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss Pickthall: Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. Yusufali: Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss.
يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ
﴿۲۵﴾
Qarib: They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed,
Sarwar: They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers Shakir: They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others) Pickthall: They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, Yusufali: Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed:
خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
﴿۲۶﴾
Qarib: its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete;
Sarwar: which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. Shakir: The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire Pickthall: Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - Yusufali: The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: |
