Qarib: But, when the Blast comes,
Sarwar: When the trumpet sounds,
Shakir: But when the deafening cry comes,
Pickthall: But when the Shout cometh
Yusufali: At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,-
Qarib: on that Day each person will flee from his brother,
Sarwar: it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother,
Shakir: The day on which a man shall fly from his brother,
Pickthall: On the day when a man fleeth from his brother
Yusufali: That Day shall a man flee from his own brother,
Qarib: his mother and his father,
Sarwar: mother, father,
Shakir: And his mother and his father,
Pickthall: And his mother and his father
Yusufali: And from his mother and his father,
Qarib: his wife and his children.
Sarwar: wife and sons,
Shakir: And his spouse and his son--
Pickthall: And his wife and his children,
Yusufali: And from his wife and his children.
Qarib: Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied.
Sarwar: for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns.
Shakir: Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him
Pickthall: Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).
Yusufali: Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
Qarib: Some faces will shine,
Sarwar: Some faces on that day will be radiant,
Shakir: (Many) faces on that day shall be bright,
Pickthall: On that day faces will be bright as dawn,
Yusufali: Some faces that Day will be beaming,
Qarib: laughing and joyful,
Sarwar: laughing and joyous
Shakir: Laughing, joyous
Pickthall: Laughing, rejoicing at good news;
Yusufali: Laughing, rejoicing.
Qarib: whereas some faces will be covered with dust
Sarwar: but others will be gloomy
Shakir: And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust,
Pickthall: And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them,
Yusufali: And other faces that Day will be dust-stained,
Qarib: and veiled with darkness.
Sarwar: and covered by darkness.
Shakir: Darkness shall cover them
Pickthall: Veiled in darkness,
Yusufali: Blackness will cover them:
Qarib: Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral.
Sarwar: These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers.
Shakir: These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked
Pickthall: Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
Yusufali: Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity.
