سوره 78: النبأ - جزء 30

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
به نام خداوند رحمتگر مهربان
عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ ﴿۱﴾
Qarib: What do they question each other about!
Sarwar: What do they quarrel about?
Shakir: Of what do they ask one another?
Pickthall: Whereof do they question one another?
Yusufali: Concerning what are they disputing?
عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۲﴾
Qarib: About the Great News
Sarwar: They quarrel about the great news
Shakir: About the great event,
Pickthall: (It is) of the awful tidings,
Yusufali: Concerning the Great News,
الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿۳﴾
Qarib: whereupon they are at variance?
Sarwar: concerning which they have disputes.
Shakir: About which they differ?
Pickthall: Concerning which they are in disagreement.
Yusufali: About which they cannot agree.
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۴﴾
Qarib: Indeed, they shall know!
Sarwar: (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality).
Shakir: Nay! they shall soon come to know
Pickthall: Nay, but they will come to know!
Yusufali: Verily, they shall soon (come to) know!
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۵﴾
Qarib: Again, indeed, they shall know!
Sarwar: Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it.
Shakir: Nay! Nay! they shall soon know
Pickthall: Nay, again, but they will come to know!
Yusufali: Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا ﴿۶﴾
Qarib: Have We not made the earth as a cradle
Sarwar: Have We not made the earth as a place to rest
Shakir: Have We not made the earth an even expanse?
Pickthall: Have We not made the earth an expanse,
Yusufali: Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,
وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا ﴿۷﴾
Qarib: and the mountains as pegs?
Sarwar: and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)?
Shakir: And the mountains as projections (thereon)?
Pickthall: And the high hills bulwarks?
Yusufali: And the mountains as pegs?
وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ﴿۸﴾
Qarib: And We created you in pairs,
Sarwar: Have We not created you in pairs,
Shakir: And We created you in pairs,
Pickthall: And We have created you in pairs,
Yusufali: And (have We not) created you in pairs,
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ﴿۹﴾
Qarib: and We made your sleep a rest,
Sarwar: made sleep for you to rest,
Shakir: And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),
Pickthall: And have appointed your sleep for repose,
Yusufali: And made your sleep for rest,
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ﴿۱۰﴾
Qarib: and We made the night a mantle,
Sarwar: made the night as a covering,
Shakir: And We made the night to be a covering,
Pickthall: And have appointed the night as a cloak,
Yusufali: And made the night as a covering,
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ﴿۱۱﴾
Qarib: and We made the day for a livelihood.
Sarwar: and the day as time for you to make a living?
Shakir: And We made the day for seeking livelihood
Pickthall: And have appointed the day for livelihood.
Yusufali: And made the day as a means of subsistence?
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا ﴿۱۲﴾
Qarib: And We built above you seven strong ones,
Sarwar: Have We not made seven strong heavens above you,
Shakir: And We made above you seven strong ones,
Pickthall: And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),
Yusufali: And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا ﴿۱۳﴾
Qarib: and placed in them a blazing lamp
Sarwar: (the sun) as a shining torch
Shakir: And We made a shining lamp,
Pickthall: And have appointed a dazzling lamp,
Yusufali: And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?
وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا ﴿۱۴﴾
Qarib: and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain
Sarwar: and sent down heavy rains from the clouds
Shakir: And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly,
Pickthall: And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water,
Yusufali: And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,
لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا ﴿۱۵﴾
Qarib: that We may bring forth with it grain, plants
Sarwar: to make the seeds, plants,
Shakir: That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,
Pickthall: Thereby to produce grain and plant,
Yusufali: That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,
وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا ﴿۱۶﴾
Qarib: and luxuriant gardens.
Sarwar: and thick gardens grow?
Shakir: And gardens dense and luxuriant
Pickthall: And gardens of thick foliage.
Yusufali: And gardens of luxurious growth?
إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا ﴿۱۷﴾
Qarib: Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time,
Sarwar: The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment.
Shakir: Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:
Pickthall: Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time,
Yusufali: Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,
يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ﴿۱۸﴾
Qarib: the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds
Sarwar: On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups.
Shakir: The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts,
Pickthall: A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes,
Yusufali: The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;
وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا ﴿۱۹﴾
Qarib: and heaven is opened, having gates,
Sarwar: The heavens will have openings like doors.
Shakir: And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,
Pickthall: And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates,
Yusufali: And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ﴿۲۰﴾
Qarib: and the mountains move, and vaporize.
Sarwar: The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages.
Shakir: And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance
Pickthall: And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage.
Yusufali: And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ﴿۲۱﴾
Qarib: Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush,
Sarwar: Hell will lie in wait (for its prey).
Shakir: Surely hell lies in wait,
Pickthall: Lo! hell lurketh in ambush,
Yusufali: Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,
لِلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا ﴿۲۲﴾
Qarib: a return for the insolent,
Sarwar: It will be a place of return
Shakir: A place of resort for the inordinate,
Pickthall: A home for the rebellious.
Yusufali: For the transgressors a place of destination:
لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا ﴿۲۳﴾
Qarib: there, they shall live for ages,
Sarwar: for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages.
Shakir: Living therein for ages
Pickthall: They will abide therein for ages.
Yusufali: They will dwell therein for ages.
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا ﴿۲۴﴾
Qarib: tasting neither coolness nor any drink
Sarwar: They will not feel cold nor taste any drink
Shakir: They shall not taste therein cool nor drink
Pickthall: Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink
Yusufali: Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا ﴿۲۵﴾
Qarib: except boiling water and pus
Sarwar: except boiling water and pus,
Shakir: But boiling and intensely cold water,
Pickthall: Save boiling water and a paralysing cold:
Yusufali: Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,
جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا ﴿۲۶﴾
Qarib: for a suitable recompense.
Sarwar: as a fitting recompense for their deeds.
Shakir: Requital corresponding
Pickthall: Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds).
Yusufali: A fitting recompense (for them).
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا ﴿۲۷﴾
Qarib: Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning,
Sarwar: They did not expect such a Judgment
Shakir: Surely they feared not the account,
Pickthall: For lo! they looked not for a reckoning;
Yusufali: For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),
وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا ﴿۲۸﴾
Qarib: and they absolutely belied Our verses,
Sarwar: and persistently rejected Our revelations.
Shakir: And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth)
Pickthall: They called Our revelations false with strong denial.
Yusufali: But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.
وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا ﴿۲۹﴾
Qarib: and everything We have numbered in a Book.
Sarwar: However, We have recorded everything in a book.
Shakir: And We have recorded everything in a book,
Pickthall: Everything have We recorded in a Book.
Yusufali: And all things have We preserved on record.
فَذُوقُوا فَلَنْ نَزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ﴿۳۰﴾
Qarib: 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment! '
Sarwar: (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you".
Shakir: So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement
Pickthall: So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment.
Yusufali: "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment."
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ﴿۳۱﴾
Qarib: But, for the cautious a place of prosperity,
Sarwar: The pious ones will be triumphant.
Shakir: Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement,
Pickthall: Lo! for the duteous is achievement -
Yusufali: Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;
حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا ﴿۳۲﴾
Qarib: and gardens and vineyards,
Sarwar: They will have gardens and vineyards,
Shakir: Gardens and vineyards,
Pickthall: Gardens enclosed and vineyards,
Yusufali: Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا ﴿۳۳﴾
Qarib: curvaceous (virgins), of equal age
Sarwar: maidens with pears-shaped breasts who are of equal age (to their spouses)
Shakir: And voluptuous women of equal age;
Pickthall: And voluptuous women of equal age;
Yusufali: And voluptuous women of equal age;
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا ﴿۳۴﴾
Qarib: and an overflowing cup.
Sarwar: and cups full of wine.
Shakir: And a pure cup
Pickthall: And a full cup.
Yusufali: And a cup full (to the brim).
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا ﴿۳۵﴾
Qarib: There, they shall neither hear idle talk, nor yet any falsehood,
Sarwar: They will not hear therein any unnecessary words or lies.
Shakir: They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying
Pickthall: There hear they never vain discourse, nor lying -
Yusufali: No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-
جَزَاءً مِنْ رَبِّكَ عَطَاءً حِسَابًا ﴿۳۶﴾
Qarib: a recompense from your Lord, a gift, a reckoning,
Sarwar: This will be their reward from your Lord, a favor from Him and a recompense for their deeds.
Shakir: A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:
Pickthall: Requital from thy Lord - a gift in payment -
Yusufali: Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ﴿۳۷﴾
Qarib: the Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that is between them, the Merciful, of whom they are unable to speak.
Sarwar: He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He is the Beneficent God and no one will be able to address Him.
Shakir: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him
Pickthall: Lord of the heavens and the earth, and (all) that is between them, the Beneficent; with Whom none can converse.
Yusufali: (From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا لَا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ﴿۳۸﴾
Qarib: On that Day, when the Spirit (Gabriel) and the angels stand in ranks they shall not speak, except he to whom the Merciful has given permission, and says what is right.
Sarwar: On that day, the Spirit and the angels who stand in lines will not speak except those whom the Beneficent God has permitted, and he will speak the right words.
Shakir: The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing
Pickthall: On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right.
Yusufali: The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.
ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَآبًا ﴿۳۹﴾
Qarib: That is the Day, the truth, so whosoever wills takes a way to his Lord.
Sarwar: That will be the Day of the Truth. So let those who want seek refuge from their Lord.
Shakir: That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord
Pickthall: That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord.
Yusufali: That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!
إِنَّا أَنْذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ تُرَابًا ﴿۴۰﴾
Qarib: Indeed, We have forewarned you of an imminent punishment, the Day when the person will look upon his works and the unbelievers will say: 'Would that I were dust! '
Sarwar: We have warned you of the approaching torment. On that day, a person will see what his hands have committed. A disbeliever will say, "Would that I had been dust".
Shakir: Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!
Pickthall: Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!"
Yusufali: Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"
