Qarib: And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah).
Sarwar: how We carried them and their offspring inside the laden Ark
Shakir: And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship
Pickthall: And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship,
Yusufali: And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark;
Qarib: And We have created for them the like of it in which they board.
Sarwar: and created for them similar things to ride.
Shakir: And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on
Pickthall: And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride.
Yusufali: And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride.
Qarib: We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved,
Sarwar: Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them
Shakir: And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued
Pickthall: And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved;
Yusufali: If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered,
Qarib: except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile.
Sarwar: except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time.
Shakir: But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time
Pickthall: Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while.
Yusufali: Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time.
Qarib: When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy. '
Sarwar: Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy
Shakir: And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you
Pickthall: When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless).
Yusufali: When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back).
Qarib: Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it.
Sarwar: and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it.
Shakir: And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it
Pickthall: Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it!
Yusufali: Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom.
Qarib: And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you, ' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error. '
Sarwar: When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error."
Shakir: And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error
Pickthall: And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest.
Yusufali: And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)?- Ye are in nothing but manifest error."
Qarib: They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true? '
Sarwar: The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?"
Shakir: And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful?
Pickthall: And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful?
Yusufali: Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?"
Qarib: They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute.
Sarwar: They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another.
Shakir: They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another
Pickthall: They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing.
Yusufali: They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves!
Qarib: Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen.
Sarwar: Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families.
Shakir: So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families
Pickthall: Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk.
Yusufali: No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people!
