﴿۱﴾
Qarib: YaSeen.
Sarwar: I swear by Ya Sin Shakir: Ya Seen Pickthall: Ya Sin. Yusufali: Ya Sin.
﴿۲﴾
Qarib: By the Wise Koran,
Sarwar: and the Quran, the Book of wisdom, Shakir: I swear by the Quran full of wisdom Pickthall: By the wise Qur'an, Yusufali: By the Qur'an, full of Wisdom,-
﴿۳﴾
Qarib: you (Prophet Muhammad) are truly among the Messengers sent
Sarwar: that you (Muhammad) are a Messenger Shakir: Most surely you are one of the messengers Pickthall: Lo! thou art of those sent Yusufali: Thou art indeed one of the messengers,
﴿۴﴾
Qarib: upon a Straight Path.
Sarwar: and that you follow the right path. Shakir: On a right way Pickthall: On a straight path, Yusufali: On a Straight Way.
﴿۵﴾
Qarib: The sending down of the Mighty, the Most Merciful
Sarwar: This is a revelation sent down from the Majestic and All-merciful Shakir: A revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful Pickthall: A revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful, Yusufali: It is a Revelation sent down by (Him), the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
﴿۶﴾
Qarib: so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, and so were heedless.
Sarwar: so that you may warn a people who are unaware because their fathers were not warned. Shakir: That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless Pickthall: That thou mayst warn a folk whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless. Yusufali: In order that thou mayest admonish a people, whose fathers had received no admonition, and who therefore remain heedless (of the Signs of Allah).
﴿۷﴾
Qarib: The Phrase has become obligatory upon most of them, yet they do not believe.
Sarwar: (I swear) that most of them are doomed to be punished. They have no faith. Shakir: Certainly the word has proved true of most of them, so they do not believe Pickthall: Already hath the judgment, (for their infidelity) proved true of most of them, for they believe not. Yusufali: The Word is proved true against the greater part of them: for they do not believe.
﴿۸﴾
Qarib: We have bound their necks with fetters up to their chin, so that their heads are raised and cannot be lowered.
Sarwar: We have enchained their necks up to their chins. Thus, they cannot bend their heads (to find their way). Shakir: Surely We have placed chains on their necks, and these reach up to their chins, so they have their heads raised aloft Pickthall: Lo! We have put on their necks carcans reaching unto the chins, so that they are made stiff-necked. Yusufali: We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see).
﴿۹﴾
Qarib: We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and, We have covered them so that they do not see.
Sarwar: We have set-up a barrier in front of and behind them and have made them blind. Thus, they cannot see. Shakir: And We have made before them a barrier and a barrier behind them, then We have covered them over so that they do not see Pickthall: And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not. Yusufali: And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see.
Qarib: It is the same whether you have warned them or you have not warned them, they do not believe.
Sarwar: Whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. Shakir: And it is alike to them whether you warn them or warn them not: they do not believe Pickthall: Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not, it is alike for them, for they believe not. Yusufali: The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe. |
