Qarib: 'Allah, ' they will reply. Say: 'How then can you be so bewitched? '
Sarwar: They will reply spontaneously, "It is God." Ask them, "Why has falsehood bewitched you?"
Shakir: They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: From whence are you then deceived?
Pickthall: They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: How then are ye bewitched?
Yusufali: They will say, "(It belongs) to Allah." Say: "Then how are ye deluded?"
Qarib: No, We have brought the truth to them, but they are liars.
Sarwar: We have sent them the truth and they, certainly, are liars.
Shakir: Nay! We have brought to them the truth, and most surely they are liars
Pickthall: Nay, but We have brought them the Truth, and lo! they are liars.
Yusufali: We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood!
Qarib: Allah has not taken to Himself any son, there is no other god with Him. Were this otherwise each god would have taken that which he created, and some of them would have risen above others; Exalted is Allah beyond that they describe!
Sarwar: God has never given birth to a son and there is no other god besides Him. If there were, each god would have taken away his creatures and claimed superiority over the others. God is too exalted to be as they believe Him to be.
Shakir: Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!
Pickthall: Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.
Yusufali: No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!
Qarib: (He is) the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, High Exalted be He above that they associate.
Sarwar: He has the knowledge of all seen and unseen things. He is too exalted to be considered equal to anything else.
Shakir: The Knower of the unseen and the seen, so may He be exalted above what they associate (with Him)
Pickthall: Knower of the Invisible and the Visible! and Exalted be He over all that they ascribe as partners (unto Him)!
Yusufali: He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him!
Qarib: Say: 'Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised,
Sarwar: Say, "Lord, if you will afflict them with punishment,
Shakir: Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with:
Pickthall: Say: My Lord! If Thou shouldst show me that which they are promised.
Yusufali: Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,-
Qarib: O my Lord, do not put me among the harmdoing people. '
Sarwar: exclude me from the unjust people".
Shakir: My Lord! then place me not with the unjust
Pickthall: My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk.
Yusufali: "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!"
Qarib: Indeed, We are able to show you that which We promised them.
Sarwar: We have the Power to strike them with torment before your very eyes.
Shakir: And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with
Pickthall: And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them.
Yusufali: And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned.
Qarib: Repel evil with that which is better. We know that which they describe.
Sarwar: Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God.
Shakir: Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe
Pickthall: Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege.
Yusufali: Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say.
Qarib: And say: 'O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from evil suggestions of the satans.
Sarwar: Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils.
Shakir: And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans;
Pickthall: And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones,
Yusufali: And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones.
Qarib: O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me. '
Sarwar: I seek your protection should they approach me."
Shakir: And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence
Pickthall: And I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord, lest they be present with me,
Yusufali: "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me."
