by the moon, which follows it, (۲)

by the day, when it displays it, (۳)

by the night, when it envelops it! (۴)

By the heaven and Who built it, (۵)

by the earth and Who spread it, (۶)

by the soul and Who shaped it (۷)

and inspired it with its sin and its piety, (۸)

prosperous is he who purified it, (۹)

and failed is he who buried it! (۱۰)
