بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ
﴿۱﴾
Nay, I swear by this city - (1)
وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ
﴿۲﴾
And thou art an indweller of this city - (2)
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ
﴿۳﴾
And the begetter and that which he begat, (3)
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ
﴿۴﴾
We verily have created man in an atmosphere: (4)
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ
﴿۵﴾
Thinketh he that none hath power over him? (5)
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا
﴿۶﴾
And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth: (6)
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ
﴿۷﴾
Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? (7)
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ
﴿۸﴾
Did We not assign unto him two eyes (8)
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ
﴿۹﴾
And a tongue and two lips, (9)
وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ
﴿۱۰﴾
And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways? (10)
