Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? (۱)

(Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, (۲)

Laboring, toiling, (۳)

Entering into burning fire, (۴)

Made to drink from a boiling spring (۵)

They shall have no food but of thorns, (۶)

Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger (۷)

(Other) faces on that day shall be happy, (۸)

Well-pleased because of their striving, (۹)

In a lofty garden, (۱۰)
